Today, let’s talk about a hidden star, Abhijit Nakshatra - the only male nakshatra.

In ancient times, there were 28 nakshatras. But now, we follow only 27. Abhijit, the 28th, was dropped because it covers only a small sky segment, between Uttara Ashadha and Shravana, in Capricorn.

The name Abhijit means “the victorious one.”

That’s why, in the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says:

“Among stars, I am Abhijit.”

During the time leading up to the Kurukshetra war, the Kauravas, guided by astrologers, planned to commence the battle when the Moon was in Abhijit Nakshatra, specifically during Abhijit Muhurta-a period considered supremely auspicious and virtually guaranteeing victory to whoever began their endeavor at that time. Krishna realized that if the Kauravas started the war under this powerful nakshatra, the Pandavas would be destined to lose because of the overwhelming auspiciousness and victory-bestowing power associated with Abhijit.

To prevent this unfair advantage and the misuse of such a potent and auspicious nakshatra for destructive purposes, Krishna removed Abhijit from the main nakshatra belt, making it an intercalary or "hidden" nakshatra rather than part of the regular 27. This act ensured that such a powerful timing could not be easily exploited for personal or destructive gain, preserving the sanctity and balance of cosmic order

In summary, Abhijit was removed by Krishna to avoid its misuse in war and to prevent the assured victory of the Kauravas, thereby maintaining fairness and cosmic balance in the unfolding of the Mahabharat.

During the war, the Pandavas chose Abhijit Muhurat to take key actions, because it was known as the most auspicious time.

Even Bhishma waited to leave his body during Abhijit time,as it is said to ensure moksha, or spiritual liberation.

This shows Abhijit represents divine victory and righteousness.

Though not part of today’s 27-star chart, Abhijit lives on through Abhijit Muhurat, a powerful time between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. daily.

No horoscope needed - it’s always a good time.

Abhijit may be hidden in the sky,but shines in our actions when we walk the path of truth and victory.
